Château de Bridoré is enjoying a new lease of life thanks to its owner, Pierre-Alexandre Mouveau, recently named "Audacieux du Patrimoine" by the Demeures Historiques association.
A network serving heritage
The "Audacieux du Patrimoine" is a network of entrepreneurs founded in 2020 by Demeure Historique, one of France's leading associations dedicated to the preservation of private monuments.
The network brings together owner-managers of private historic monuments and gardens who have embarked on entrepreneurial activities to ensure the financial viability of their sites.
The aim is to transform their passion for heritage into viable economic projects, while respecting the history and environment of their properties.
This prestigious title rewards the impressive efforts of Pierre-Alexandre Mouveau to restore and bring to life this French fortress, acquired by his family in 1793.
Since 2019, he has been pulling out all the stops to help visitors discover the Middle Ages in a whole new light.

Outside, four 16th-century caponiers, linked by underground passageways, are waiting to be restored. Pierre-Alexandre Mouveau is actively seeking funding, and why not with the support of Stéphane Bern's foundation?
By 2023, Château de Bridoré had already been awarded the Vieilles Maisons Françaises label, underlining the excellence of its heritage enhancement.
"We don't choose, the house chooses. We're just transmitters", confides Pierre-Alexandre Mouveau, perfectly embodying the spirit of the Audacieux du patrimoine.
